Great Oaks College is an expanding specialist independent college in its third year of operation. We are co-located within Oaklands School, a new state of the art, purpose built premises located in Gresham Road, Hounslow, close to Osterley Tube Station.
The college provides further educational opportunities to students aged 19-24 with moderate, severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties or autism. We run three Pathways, Vocational, Life and Living and Engagement for Life.
We are looking to employ a 1:1 Specialist Learning and Intervener Assistant to our team. We are interested to hear from you if you have an NVQ3 in a relevant subject and have worked in a special college or specialist school before. You will have previous experience and be familiar with using strategies to support a student with Visual and Hearing Impairments to support them to become more independent in the community. You will have experience therapy plans and advise from Specialist Teachers and be able to demonstrate previous success in working to support young adults to engage in their education. The successful candidate will be willing to complete an Intervener Training Course (paid for by the college).

Hours of work: 31.25 hours per week (excluding 45 min breaks), 08:30 – 15:30. (Monday to Friday). Due to the college’s opening hours, we are unable to offer flexibility in the hours of work.
