Great Oaks College is a specialist independent college which is currently open to students across two sites.
The college provides further educational opportunities to students aged 19-25 with moderate, severe and profound and multiple learning difficulties, many of whom also have other needs such as physical disabilities, sensory impairments and autism.
We run three Pathways: Vocational, Life and Living and Engagement for Life.
The Life and Living Pathway is located at the Triangle in Hounslow, Engagement for Life and Vocational Departments is located at the Windmill, Sunbury on Thames (the main College address).
We are looking to appoint a qualified speech and language therapist to provide onsite SALT service for our students and to work alongside the head of therapy to support and develop this provision. The ideal candidate will have 2 years experience of working in a specialist school for young adults who have very complex needs including PMLD, SLD and autism along with NHS Band 7 SALT experience. It is essential that the candidate will be experienced and confident with supporting dysphagia and is able to maintain their competencies in this area. The successful candidate will act as dysphagia lead for the college.

Contract Type: Full time, Permanent, term time plus 2 weeks in the summer holidays (total of 41 weeks which is 0.73485 fte)
Hours of work: 29 hours a week -4 days per week – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
Pay Scale: The inner London Pay Scale(2026) PO3 point 32 £46,854 per year pro rata to PO5 point 41 £ 56,436 per year pro rata ( depending on the experience)
Actual Salary: £34,430 to £41,471 per annum.
